the overwhelming majority of
readers of the Apathetic Voter newsletter are hard working Americans who
often begrudgingly pay their taxes, but that is a necessity to fully support
a democracy. However, government
spending is out of control. Many of
our senators and representatives are like mad dogs when it comes to doling
out your tax money for undeserving and oft dangerous leftist causes.
One of the issues that especially angers most Americans
is why are illegal aliens allowed
to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment -- even
if the job was obtained through forged or stolen documents.
Senator John
Ensign (Republican, Nevada)
offered an amendment to strip that provision from the bill. He said, “There was a felony they were committing, and now
they can't be prosecuted. That sounds like amnesty to me. It just boggles the mind how people could
be against this amendment."
Mr. Ensign was among 44 Republicans and five Democrats who voted to
block such payouts.
Below is the list of senators who voted to give benefits
to illegal aliens during voting on the Immigration Reform Bill in Congress in
May 2006. Check the list and make sure
you campaign against the people who voted “Yea” for this outrage.
